I have each nest box in a 1x1 room with a door, and each hen in a pasture on that nest box. When they claim the box, I make the door unpassable and wait for the eggs to hatch. But they never hatch! They just sit there for a while and then become "rotten eggs" – and yes, I do have a rooster on the map.
