Irrational answers
WebAug 12, 2013 · If your looking for a way to identify rationals and irrationals: a rational number is a number that can be expressed as an integer by an integer. Any operation between irrational and rational will give an irrational number (unless the rational is zero). But don’t forget PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction) Webpi + 1 - pi addition is commutable, so you can move things around as long as you keep the sign, so pi - pi + 1 is the same, and anything minus itself (even irrational numbers) is always 0, so all that is left is 1 = 1 If pi is 3.14159..., so if you subtract 1, you would have 2.14159..., but as you expected it does not mean much. WebNov 8, 2016 · Answer: No. One should not confuse irrational with inaccurate. π is an irrational and precise number. If r = 1, A = π (or using r = 7, A = 49 π from comments above) this calculation is precise. π is the symbolic representation of the entire chain of that infinite sequence of numbers. It is as accurate as the symbol ∞ is (add to the list i and e ). WebJun 12, 2012 · 7 Answers Sorted by: 161 The short answer to your question is that is not necessarily true.
